Combo #1: Premium Package $1,250 Automatic AC Dual-Pane Panorama Sunroof Sport w/Cruise and Multifunction On-Board Computer
Combo #2: Sport Package $1,250 White Bonnet Stripes Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) 17" S-Lite with perf. run-flats Front Fog Lamps Xenon Headlights w/Power Wash
Combo #3: Cold Weather Package $300 Heated Front Seats Heated Side Mirrors Heated Washer Jets
The S came with the 'sport' suspension. I'm pretty sure the only 'big brake' option was JCW, and those were red, so easy to see.

Check the production date on the door jamb...
Early model 2002 cars, both s (all s had a sc) and base (all normally asperated) had lots of differances from even slightly later model cars....and are thus are much cheaper on the used market...to be blunt, mini learned from mistakes on early cars, and changed a few parts...some for the better, some just made the car a bit "softer".
There is a thread here somehere about how to use the vin to lookup the specs online, but most 02 cars were dealer spec cars, not customer ordered....

Jcw big brake kit was not even an option till much later...2005...but could be bolted on...lsd was not an option till late 2004, early 2005, but some folks bolted them in when doing a clutch.....
not all S models came with the sport suspension from the factory. They did come with thicker front sway-bar that came with the R50 sport package. The S sport package I believe came with a thicker steering wheel with little nubs on each side for your thumb, stiffer springs and dampers, and slightly lower.

trying to keep the different sport packages straight is tuff...
there were sport, sport+, and sport ++...depending on the year...on the 02's the sport+ was really stiff..the car was made a bit more softer to make it more "livable" accoeding to some.......MINI's were so customizable...there were 2 different steering wheel options MOST years..plus JCW leather and alcatera...so you will not likely find more than 1 mini that is EVER alike...
kinda like the armrest,,there was no less than 3 factory ones at different point, PLUS the euro mini one...and the aftermarket one...lol..so just find the car YOU like.
