submitaweasel, your car looks good. so youre running VMAXX coilovers, stock wheels, and 12mm spacers in the front? so with at et48 wheel and after spacers, that would change the overall offset to et36?

how much room would you estimate there is between the spring perch and the tire/wheel when the car is down and off jackstands?

If the stock offset is et48, then yes. I havent done any research on the stock wheels so don't take my confirmation as the truth

If I recall, I can fit a finger inbetween the wheel and spring perch, with the spacers, so maybe like 1/4" which would mean you SHOULD have clearance with you et40 wheels, (if my overall offset is indeed et36). I'll doublecheck to see how much clearance I have...but the main problem is I can't really see past the wheel when the car isn't on a jack

If that paragraph above makes no sense, it is due to me not really understanding how offset works. If someone wanted to school me, I'd be a happy boy.

There are a whole lot of ifs and assumptions in this post, so I'd suggest not taking my word as truth just yet. I'll try to gather some more information before I head to work.

I just did a little research and yes, my wheels are et48 stock, so my 12mm spacers should reduce offset to et36 (I think????)

Also, thanks to settling, there is no way I can even get my hand back there to feel the amount of space I've got with the car on the ground. I'd be willing to bet you'll be fine, but if not, you'd only need 5mm spacers and then you'd have more clearance than me

okay cool sounds good

well i have seen people with et20 wheels but most of them do not have VMAXX coilovers... which is why i was wondering since the front VMAXX coilovers are not "normal" looking coilovers like the rear ones.

im still waiting for hub centric rings to install the wheels, but once the tires are mounted i will let you know how everything goes. i really hope they clear.

Yep, the fronts are a bit of an odd shape since they use the stock macpherson strut mount but thats not even the area I had trouble. The closest part of the coilover to my wheel is the lockring and bottom perch. The fact that the springs themselves are increasing diameter from bottom to top caused no problems for me

Thanks for the pics. It gives me a good idea of what I am looking at. Car looks good!

Help!!

I had purchased Vmaxx coilovers, on multiple forums I read that they will slam your mini. I recently installed them and they are not what i expected.. My mini isnt even close to what people were saying or pictured people have posted. Im not sure if I installed them wrong or not, Please Help!

I have purchased aftermarket camber plats to replace oem tophats. The piece under the camber plate has recently been removed.

The front are all the way lowered. The rears have about 4in left.
