R50/53 Vibration under hard acceleration above 60 MPH
Well I found this thread do to same issues. Car start to shake at 65 under acceleration. I can be at 75 mph hit gas get vibration. Cruise at 75 feels ok. Whole front end has been rebuilt. I mean everything. All new tires.
I check all motor mounts. Pull them off no cracks. No engine misfiring.
Little back story. About 3 months ago I hit a nasty pothole. Blew out the left front tire. When to a local tire guy an had some cheap tires slapped on. Did a horrible job at balancing them. Took it to Discount Tire had them road forced. Drove home about 300 miles drive. Started to get the vibration at 70 ish. The steering wheel was not as straight as it was before the pothole.
So I got home an did some more inspection. I could see the lower control arm was just a slight bit off. So I replaced everything on the driver side. Including the axle. The steering straightened out but still had the vibration issue. So I went yo the passenger side of car an inspected everything. Could not see any issues. So I pull the trigger an replaced the passenger axle still no change.
I went back yo discount tire here in Panama City. They said the road force numbers were not good. Had to slap a load of weights just to balance. But the road force numbers still not good. When driving down the road at slow speeds I could feel a lumpy road feel.
So I replaced the front tires an that feeling is gone. So I am thinking about replacing the back tires now. My thought behind it is the tires I replaced at first have height spots in them causing the vibration at high speeds an the awful road forced numbers.
What are y’all’s thoughts?
