How many of you have used mini roadside... what did you think? How long did it take you to get a truck. What did you use it for.... what are the details of the situation?? Just a conversation piece.... sounds like an interesting topic!!

As I understand it, AAA does have the contract for MINI roadside. They send out AAA service providers. Do you recall which station towed you?

how can it not be an interesting topic... it directly connects to Consumer Reports "below average" rating for mini relability. You figure on an est vehicles serviced through mini roadside equal about 8,500 for 2004 (based on Jan and Feb figures).... I havnt heard the reports from 2003 yet, but I will find that out and post it....

forgot to include those are projected figures based off jan and feb.. jan was 699 and feb 677 car rendered service.

NRX... where are you from? 4-5 hours. normal response time is usually under 1 hr. 60mins or less....

Oh, and this all happened while i was going out on a date. Luckily she was patient and we just waited inside my apartment, smoked, watched tv and talked. With the window open of course so i could see if they arrived. This was at like 4:30 we didnt get out to the restaurant till about 11 or so. It took a long time for them to put my car on the bed too, he couldnt find a place to tie it down. Lame!

that is pretty lame. There are the tie hooks clearly marked in our manual. Tow drivers have a manual with every type of vehicle what type of drive train and how to tow it safely. This is why they're suppose to be professionals... doesnt always work out that way though...

I have had mine towed by MINI Roadside twice in my 17 months of ownership. Once was after Global Imports MINI (atlanta, ga) didn't change the oil (they told me they did change it! ) when I asked them too (it wasn't scheduled maintance) I got mad that they didn't change it and refused to drive the 1.5 hours to them so they sent roadside. The second time was vaild though, my power steering failed last tuesday and it took 1.5 hours for roadside to get here (rome, ga) which is how long they told me on the phone. My car is supposed to be ready monday so we will see.

at least they were acurate on the phone right? that is close to normal response time anyways. good luck with your cooper.

I've used Roadside once in 13 months of ownership. I live two hours from two different dealerships (Memphis and St. Louis). Anyway, my car wouldn't restart one day probably in the second or third month of ownership. I called Roadside, they had a flatbed there within 20 minutes. Everything went very smoothly, the only thing is that I couldn't talk them in to taking it to the dealer I bought from (Memphis) because where it wouldn't restart was closer to St. Louis. No biggie, Autohaus in St. Louis put in a new fuel pump and then all I had to do was make the journey to pick it up. They did have to order the pump, though. Took about 5 days altogether.
