R50/53 Battery Problem?
Battery Problem?
I have an '06 MC with 96,000miles. I replaced the battery in Januray of this year. Starting a month or so ago, it doesn't turn over as rapidly as it did when it was new. There is a slight hesitation.
I thought I had read a thread on here about some cars having a faulty pump (can't remember which one) still running once the car is off and draining batteries, but I cannot find it

You are referring to the power steering pump fan which, when faulty, will continue to run when the car is off. You will definitely know it's on. It's loud. This will eventually drain your battery though, not make it weak.
razz, thank you. I don't hear anything when I turn the car off. So i guess as long as the car starts I won't worry about it
Clean your battery's terminals and the insides of the cable connectors with a wire terminal brush. Also clean the engine ground strap terminal and tighten the nut. (Be sure to remove any ring/s from your fingers before working near the battery). Once you've done these things, it may or may not improve the situation but at least you can eliminate this from the equation.
