Back in 1971 I worked for Toyaota Motor Sales in New York. My boss had been the National Service Manager for BMC before Toyota hired him away..He found out I had a Mini Cooper S and we discussed the many problems with that Car. I asked him what the S stood for .....He said the factory called it their "SUPER" model..So, there it is guys.........S stands for SUPER...
splendidly sophisticate, superbly sensational, sensational soloist.......
ACHTUNG!!!!
All of the above does not apply to the BRG jobs....they are just awful......
I'm starting to think it stands for "Snob" or "Sorry" as in "Sorry you bought that whimpy Cooper now go away and let us priveleged S owners play together."
Why would one think that?? IMO a MINI is a MINI.....except if it is a BRG job and then it is an aberration that people should stay away from so they will be discontinued sooner......
