R50/53 Yo-yo?
Yep, I'm a newbie ... could someone clue me in as to what the term "yo-yo" refers to?
My CVT does a little stop-start thing at very low speeds (5 mph in gridlock) ... is that it?
(If there's a FAQ somewhere that I missed, could someone give me a link and a swift knock with the clue bat?
Thanks a bunch,

Thanks for linking the thread - countrym
---> nudavchzz - early CVT's (before '04) sometimes had some programming issues. This is not to be confused with the "Yo-Yo", which is a Cooper S-only issue. The remedy for your CVT woes is go to schedule an appointment at your dealership to have Version 36 software put on your car - this should help out lots! Software upgrades from MINI are lifetime no-cost.
Hope that helps,
Ryan

not really - we can only guesstimate via the build date. Since MINI didn't start putting V36 from the factory until 10/03 (MY04), yours definitely doesn't have it
P.S. we don't really have a FAQ section.....yet. Right now we're keeping the important stuff sticky'd to the top of its' respective forum.
Cheers,
Ryan

"Yo-Yo: Vehicle exhibits a characteristic where the throttle body is oscillating, causing audible and sometimes physical "lurching" or "wavering"."
Wha??????? I'm sorry. I just don't speak that language. Can someone explain in lame mans terms what the heck this means?
