Just returned from the 2nd Annual MINICUP.
What a fun day..... truely a blast
It was good to see you all...again

30+ cars and an interesting... and tricky IMO.... (2) hour road trip ...which brought us thru interesting/varied roads and scenery in the Philadelphia area.
(we actually had to navigate thru a .. shallow stream w/ our mini's )

Most teams consisted of a driver and a navigator...
we were all given directions... then had to make notations on our forms to confirm that we actually visited specific... places.
There were many places to scr** up.... and we did...but we laughed...alot

It ended w/ a terrific barbeque... and nice conversations with a great gathering of MINI-acs....
I enjoy the varied group that these events seem to ...attract

Kudos to Eric @ Helix for this terrific event
Thanks for the fun day and again,....
I thank you for the invite and look forward to next year.

I'm sure there are a bunch of pics that were taken...
please...post away

Peace,
D

I just got back - what a great time! Damn that Porsche.

The rally was definitely tricky - Eric's (intentional) mileage and direction mistakes made it interesting for everyone. The brewery tour / bench racing / burger&dog consumption / bench racing / beer drinking / bench racing was outstanding.

I think Eric is thinking: "How could I weld more parts onto that trophy?"

Perhaps a small "eternal" type flame from the center would be a nice touch in the future?

Thanks ERIC. [b]This was by far the best MINI event I have ever been too[b]. It was so much fun even though Dennis and I got lost and I finished close to last. I just wanted everyone to see me roll in at the end anyway.

It was good to meet New people and see familiar faces. I liek Cheese's Scion. I am Jealous. I want one.

Can't wait for next year.

I had to search around to find this thread, sorry for the repeating posts!! As has been said:

What a blast at the HelixMINICup2!! It was great seeing all of our
MINI friends, some came from NY, CT, VT....and of course PA and NJ.

The race that wasn't a race! Thanks to an excellent navigator, changingman, there were no troubles whatsoever in my MINI! Except that we missed 1st place!

Thanks to Eric and his lovely wife Megan, for hosting and putting this together. Thanks to Yards Brewery for the guided tour and the free beer!
Thanks to those of you that cooked the hot dogs and hamburgs.

What an awesome event!

We had a cop following us on the airport road (25 mph speed limit) while I was going ... ahem ... a bit faster than the limit. He stayed on my tail for a while and turned away immediately before I needed to take the no-right-turn-right-turn.

A cop pulled me & JLM over at a "non - functioning" traffic light and yelled at me for my ignorance of traffic laws...he seemed very agitated, but only warned me to "be careful"

BTW, the airport road may be one of the most fascinating drives I have done in some time. I definitely need to go back down there and shoot...
