R50/53 R53 ECU Firmware Versions?
R53 ECU Firmware Versions?
Hi all, I've been looking high and low for information on the different versions of the ECU firmware. Changes made, features added or removed and so on. I'm not finding too much. I've read small bits about V38 improving the ASC at slow speeds (not gimping the car so badly) But I've read that V39 (A recall flash from what I read) causes yoyo. Without a listing of versions and changes made to the ECU ability I'm stuck here with whatever version I currently have. That version causes the ASC to clamp at sub 10mph speeds and turn it back on randomly after I've disabled it.
To be clear, I'm not talking about "Tune" or settings made inside the ECU. This is firmware versions (Like BIOS versions) I'm looking for. I'm trying to find the best firmware to flash my ECU with THEN begins the tuning.
Cheers!

Mini would have the different versions and the dealer should be able to flash the ECU's. The dealer would likely be using the latest version only. Hence why I'm asking about the differences in these versions. If version XX fixes the ASC issue but creates yoyo, I may not opt to get it done and just live with turning off ASC myself. But who knows when the version history of this software is not easily found.
I was hoping a Mini Tech or someone who has worked on R53 software would chime in an clear me up on this. The ECU is a huge part of the car and alters many functions. I'm supprised there isn't more information on this software out there.

I used to have a Hyundai Elantra (two, actually) and that community kept up with ECU updates - they generally found out about them via TSBs, and so long as your car was under warranty, the reflash was free. However, sometimes you're asking more than your dealer's used to - I had to print out the instructions myself, even though they were snagged from some internal system. Once I handed them the step-by-step, they went ahead and flashed my ECU with an update that helped with a weird power dip around 3500rpm.
If you're lucky enough to have found a willing dealer with a knowledgeable staff, I'd think your best bet would be to ask them...
