So, these look like BMW's angel eyes style thing, abd they are C.H.E.A.P.! $54!

I saw these at a local car stereo shop, then found them online... Sure beats my $400 PIAAs... hehe

These are cool.

Do you know where to buy the MINI-specific rally light mounting hardware only? I'd buy aftermarket lights...but without the custom MINI light mounts and hardware....would be difficult to install, right? Or no?

Thanks,

-Joe

Cool looking! I wonder how bright they are. I went through 2 different angel eyes on my other car and unfortunately, both didn't last very long due to poor quality.

I've yet to see a quality angle eyes light.

MINI Madness sells the mounting hardware and it's more stable than the OEM design.

Hmm, maybe i should reconsider them... I was --this-- close to getting them... I already have dealer installed PIAAs, so the hardware and wiring is all there, I figure it shouldn't be too much pain to change them. We'll see..

I find the OEM to be great - a little to flashy for my taste, I like function not flash.

I mounted my aftermarket driving lights without a bracket. If you're creative enough there won't be a problem. The only downfall to my setup, they have a tendany to vibrate on bumpy roads. I too have a little bit of color to mine also, but not very bright. You wouldn't know they are there unless I turned them on. The outer ring has 2 very small light bulbs that have a capsule over them and shine blue only when the foglights are off and I want the blue on. They give a nice little bit of spice the front. I'm afraid to hear what you all would say about my tailpipe. I'm not rice, Just want to do what every MINI owner wants, to be a little different!

Remember the basic rule when purchasing anything; you usually get what you pay for. The manufacturer made a profit, then the retailer marks it up again. I will bet those cheap angel eyes cost under $15 to manufacture and imported from the Orient.

CHEAP PARTS NOT GOOD, GOOD PARTS NOT CHEAP!

I've seen angel eyes on classic minis, except they were around the actual headlamps instead of rally lights. Not like the BMW stuff, but around the whole lamp assembly. The effect was really cool.

This reminds me of my favorite saying in the computer sales biz:

You can have Good, Fast and Cheap. Pick any two.

Good and Fast (not Cheap)
Good and Cheap (not Fast)
Cheap and Fast (not Good)

Thanks for sharing. I also came across a building contractors pick-up with a rear license plate that read the following. I have never forgotten it;

GOOD WORK NOT CHEAP

CHEAP WORK NOT GOOD

It's so true. Like most people, I love a bargain as much as the next guy. But as we age, we also become wiser. The door hinge, upholstery, safety features, braking, etc.. on a Mercedes is of higher quality than a Kia, hence you pay a higher price. You usually (No, not 100% of the time) get what you pay for. I can't help but notice everytime I walk into a Walmart or Kmart how much of the products sold are imported from China. My guess is 75% of the goods sold in these stores is imported from the Orient.
