Use Your Skeleton as an Antenna!

So, I'm pretty sure im not the only mini owner who thinks the range on the mini keyless entry keys is terrible.....

I found on a local forum, another thread about this topic, and after some experimenting I decided I just Had to pass it along!

Take your key, and put the metal key part up under your CHIN, with the button part pointing away from your body (i hold mine upside down, buttons facing the floor).

Then, push the button! This seems to work anywhere from 20 ft to 150 ft! I bet i can get more with a nice clear line of site. Its pretty amazing! You have to try it!

Yes it works great. It has been talked about a lot. Do a search.

You can actually point it anywhere on your head, not just your chin. And it seems to work with any keyless entry system not just specific to Mini's. Pretty cool trick I agree

The first time I did this was back in 94 when I bought my first car. brand new civic coupe ex. I bought a Viper alarm and the installer gave me pointers on the alarm. I am guessing people have been doing that for long before 1994.

I read about this awhile back, and many arguments that it was bogus ("it's just because you're holding it higher up," etc) but after many experiments I'm sold, it does work.
