Cleaned the air filter (hope my mileage improves now) and tried out Randy's suggestion on how to get rid of that door ding. Heated the ding with a hair dryer, then rubbed an ice cube on it. It helped. Not perfect, but better.
Went grocery shopping.

Yes a bunch of us showed up from all over souther CA and had a great drive out and back. RAIN on the way back - we think it's trying to make up for the rain shortfall in ONE day.

Great bunch of people met, drove, ate, photos, drove.

Well, it finally hit above zero here this weekend, and is it a MESS. We use lots of sand in winter (not as much salt), and when the snow melts and mixes with the sand, well, it's not pretty. Basically a mud-bath everyday.

Although I did get out on the highway & opened her up to 190Km, now THAT felt good!

I run her into the do-it-yourself wash and give her a quick 5 minute wash & rinse just to get the dirt off. No sense drying or waxing now... Makes me think of getting a winter beater...

I put my new antenna on. You can sort of see it in this pic:

Hopefully, I will be able to wash it soon.

I celebrated my MINI's first birthday (10,700 miles).

Went on a MINI only cruise around the southeast coast of Oahu and through a few twisty roads.

This was our view along the coast looking out at Makapuu.
All of the MINIs on the cruise had upgraded pulleys! It was like a test drive with curves.
Everything worked well.

Got my Fumoto F106-N oil drain valve on Saturday. Also bought 6 qts. of Mobil-1 5w30, and an oil filter from MINI. Gonna be installing the valve and changing the oil this week.

Didn't do mods or the wash-up thing. Went motoring instead. My wife and I went out Saturday
to carve up some curves and ended up spending about 3 hours behind the wheel, trying hard
not to let the rev counter drop much below 5 K. Sunday, did a bit of experimenting by my lonesome
w/ front wheel drive loss of traction situations. I found a killer hairpin w/ no one around and
great visibility coming and going and took it repeatedly at progressively higher speeds
to break the tires loose at different points in the turn- nothing but apexes and exits
for a half an hour or so. Probably took a good 3K or more's worth of tread off the old
runflats. MINI makes me

In attendance at the St. Louis Pulley Party -

Received the "Webb EVM" package (Extra Value Meal), including:

15% Alta Pulley
Webb ECU
Nology wires
Denso IK22 Plugs
Alta Intake with hose

It's a whole different car. BTW, the wires and hose are RED, because:

RED MAKES THINGS GO FASTER!

It was 48 degrees, so I gave it a nice wash, and then motored about in my shiny MINI.

I pined for my MINI this weekend! Yes, I was MINI-less in Pittsburgh and adding insult to injury I got stuck driving a @#%#! SUV rental. Oh, the agony! It was a fun trip visiting my son and daughter in school. I guess the 4 doors did come in handy.

On Saturday, installed the BMP Stainless Brake Hoses and changed fluid to ATE Super Blue. Made the pedal feel much better!
Took Mom out for a drive on Sunday. She loves a nice country road drive. Reminds her of "motoring" with my late Dad in the MGTD way back before I came along.

Now that I think about it, my MINI didn't get driven at all this weekend. Except moved out of the driveway so other cars could be used. And to think it was its 1st birthday weekend...guess I am a bad MINI owner.

Hit the local auto x course. SFR SCCA round 2. A wet parking lot makes for a lot of fun.

I checked the status of my mini order several times (a day). Went to Hank Aaron Mini and got my mini fix. (Woohoo, dealer said I'm in the paint shop)
Washed the miata, got it appraised, and put it in the auto trader. And then looked up mini accessories for a few hours.
Did I mention I can't wait for April

Andres, just take it out of storage already! Seems like half the club refuses to drive 'em in the winter! Even when I get my Mazda, I'll still take the Mini out in the winter if I have the desire.

But anyways, what'd I do with Sprog II this weekend? Drove it!
