R50/53 Coolant emptied, leaked everywhere
Coolant emptied, leaked everywhere
Funny, moving to Hawaii in <4 weeks (not taking the car with) and things have been going haywire on this beast. Power steering hose leaking, have an oil leak now, o2 sensors needed replacing (thankfully under warranty by BMW) my lower (?) motor mount was busted 6 months after replacing the upper
, axle nuts are loose, need new C-arm bushings, etc.
Popped the hood today to check my oil level since I now have spots all over the driveway and found that the coolant was empty. Looks like the damn thing exploded all over the place. It must have happened recently because I pop the hood twice a month or so when I fill up the reservoirs. I just had my PS hose replaced, so do you think maybe they bumped something? I mean the thing has green liquid all over the metal pan underneath, its cracked or something.
Good thing I'm leaving this car for a while, seems to be giving me trouble lately
Suggestions? Price to repair? Can I do it on my own?

There is an issue with the coolant overflow bottles becoming brittle and breaking it happens very often. It's a pretty easy job to accomplish. The OEM part number is 17137529273. http://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin/...k%20with%20Cap
