Sprint booster and Pulley

Well I would like to say hello to everyone. Hello.

I finally bought my 1st Mini S. It is a 2004 Pure silver 6spd. I love it. I already have installed a KN filter kit, msd coil, and magnacor wires. I also have Zimmerman Drilled/slotted rotors.

Thursday I am having the 15% pulley installed with a Helix short throw shifter. Is this that noticeable? I also, minutes ago landed an amazing deal on a brand new never used sprint booster. Is this a good direction to be going by usinf the sprint booster? I see some love it others hate it.

The pulley you will notice, and the short shift is very nice. I have both on my car and love it.

Don't waste your time with the sprint booster though, just put your foot down if you want to move

Search "Sprint Booster" in the search box here, there are a LOT of opinions. Personally I am really pleased with mine. So are the majority of users.

Some people like them. I can't stand them: it makes it difficult to modulate the throttle for no performance gains. It basically turns your throttle pedal into an on-off switch.

I'd have to disagree with that one. The whole reason I like it is because it allows for gentle inputs for modulation. It makes the throttle an exercise in finesse rather than "mash now to rev match"

I fully agree with Dannyboy!
But if you buy it new and are not satisfied, you have 30 days to return the product for a full refund. There is a short learning curve to get comfortable with it.
I prefer it over the stock throttle response. I keep it on the green sport setting.

Well it showed up today. Installation took 15 minutes. This is dramatic as the 15% pulley is. I only played with it in my garage for 5 minute and I can see this will make my MINI even more interesting. Green does seem to be the best, as red is very EXTREME. Green now matches my foot pressure without waiting for it to play catch up. With red I would be afraid to sneeze.

So today I went out playing with my new found power from the pulley, I also tried out the Sprint Booster. IMO the people who claim to not like them, have never tried one or tried the Version 1 which was probably like the RED mode. This is such an improvement in throttle response you have to experience to understand. If you just sit idling and press on the gas petal with it off, there is a definite hesitation. Put it on GREEN and the response is close to the movement of my foot. On RED it responds very fast to the smallest of movements. Dont sneeze. GREEN seems to be perfect for me for now.

This was all while sitting still. Now out on the road, it is night and day different. You have to experience it. AMAZING is all I can say. Just give it gas and it goes like never before. No delays and no 1st gear bogs driving off.

Live in the Hudson Valley NY or NE PA and want to check it let me know. I will make you a believer.

My throttle is already very sensitive without it, I have to be very conscious of my foot movements or up shift a gear so I don't end up going too fast around some corners. I can't imagine advancing the response even more would very safe
