Clutch is messed up!

Hey guys, my new to me mini just developed a really weird issue with the clutch that i've never experienced before. Right now when i depress the clutch pedal it doesn't really seem to do anything besides make a very loud, high-pitched whining screeching noise (like a belt slipping) because I can hardly engage the gears at all. About a week ago i was driving and for some reason my clutch pedal got stuck about halfway down so i had to bring it all the way back up with my foot. i thought this was strange, but didn't really think anything of it. Also recently my clutch pedal has had a lot of vibration in it which seem to get worse as the clutch pedal is depressed. I am thinking that perhaps the throwout bearing committed suicide, but I am not sure what that's like. Can anyone help me?

Definitely sounds like your clutch. I just went through a similar incident with my Clutch. unfortunately it is not covered by warranty. My dealer quoted my $4,000 to replace the clutch and the flywheel. I was able to get Mini USA to goodwill all of the labor and the clutch kit. I had to pay for the flywheel. Which came out to be $1,143.00 with tax. My Mini now shifts like it did brand new.

yeah I was pretty sure it was the clutch, did they tell you what exactly the problem was? how did you get MINI USa to cover the labor and clutch kit? I'm thinking of just throwing a Spec Stage 1 kit in my self since I just spent $1800 replacing the steering rack and balljoints.

I basically asked my SA if there was anyway Mini USA could give me a goodwill repair since I can not afford $4,000. After several day, my SA advised this is what Mini can do for me. I was very relieved. It will be cheaper to do it yourself of course.
