Well I am new to the world of mini's, and decided to learn through the trail by fire method and just go out and buy the first R53 that caught my eye and attempt to make it into a well tuned driving machine. When leaving the lot i hit a bump about 10 meter past the gate and a little wedge of plastic fell out of my sun roof causing a nasty rattling. Then when i accelerated to about 60 MPH a cross wind hit my hood the wrong way and the front trim of my scoop blew up and over my car and shattered into a dozen pieces. Needless to say a few more interesting problems started to occur belt squealing and some issues with what appears to be the bushings. The moral of the story don't buy from a shady dealer. I was just wondering where i can find a factory default scoop trim and possibly an some advice on said squealing belt that squeals when i am in gear. Thanks

Uhm. Didn't you test drive the thing first? Mini, Toyota, Ford, Jeep, blah, blah, blah...DRIVE the damn thing first. No?

Yeah i drove it for like 15 esk miles to make sure nothing major was wrong with it. But a few things apparently slipped through the cracks. I talked to the dealer and luckily there is a lemon law in RI so it scares dealers into fixing things like dicked up sun roofs and that kinda stuff.
