I just changed my light switch out tonight and I'm feeling kind of cocky. I did a search but didn't find what I was looking for exactly.

I will be doing an oil change this weekend, and can re-make those instructions with pictures unless someone can resurrect the old stuff.

If you read those instructions, i'll make one suggestion: Loosen the canister/oil filter FIRST and let it sit. You'll feel when you've loosened it enough. You'll get a lot less oil on the floor that way.

I pre-fit the oil filter element to make it a little easier to start the canister threads when putting it back on. I push the filter element onto the engine block to enlarge (pre-size) the hole in the filter. I then remove the filter element from the block. I push the filter element onto the canister. I then install the canister with filter element onto the engine. This just makes the canister go on a little easier and makes getting the threads started just a little easier.

Capt, I pinged you for that PDF, thanks for offering. Does everyone prefer the manufacturer's filter or is aftermarket acceptable?

I had always used the OEM filters (Mann/Mahle) but just switched to WIX because it seems to be better than the OEM (more pleats and better end caps).
