IN 1964 Paddy Hopkirk drove the # 37 Mini Cooper S at the Monte Carlo Rally.
40 years later MINI will be releasing a limited edition version to the public.
The name will be the MC40 and only 1000 will be made. Wearing the famous 33EJB and number 37, also all cars will be the same Chili red with white roof, red leather trimmed sports seats, a John Cooper Works real Carbon Fiber Dash, Driving lamps, chrome grill, mirrors, and Boot trim, Special 17" wheels with runflats:( , auxilary gauges, and a matte chrome gear **** with special inlay. The cars will also have a Paddy Hopkirk engraved autograph, and a special MC40 monroney label. So this will be a true collectors item. I will see if I get one , so from what I heard is that the dealer s will get one in February, and the rest will arrive in June. Enjoy !!!!

 

I bet the dealers can't wait to see how much over sticker they can get for this unit

I think that's awesome! Special editions are a great way to keep Mini tradition alive. People will definitely ****** these up..........for a price. Can't say as I blame them! Weren't there some Italian Job special editions, too? Didn't hear much talk of them in the States.

 

Maybe the "MC40" can be parked next to a "MINI Cooper RS"

I found this onMINI2, but it's all rumor until I see it for real IMHO.

EDIT: OK...it's for real! I just got the bulletin this morning.

 

If you don't believe me go and ask someone at your dealership, b/c that is how I found out. He even showed it to me on their internal website and it is an official announcement.

I just talked to my motoring advisor, he told MIN planned on unveiling this vehicle on February 4, 2004 at the Chicago Auto Show.

I would've consider it, but I just bought an 2004 MCS.
