After a few weeks with my mini the sales person showed me they functions that I could do with my remote key. Revelation#1 If your windows and sun roof are open, you don't have to manually close them...just step out of your car, put your minikey in and turn to the right and hold. Your windows and sunroof automatically close. Very impressive in fornt of an outdoor cafe. Rwevelation# 2 If you hold down your remote button on the key for severals seconds it automatiocally pops open th hatch. The mechanism I find is not fail proof as the hatch sometimes catches and remains closed. Revelation# 3 You can re-program your key to open your windows and sun roof....just go to your local BMW service station and they can make the change from the hatch open to the windows/sunroof open option.

As if the Mini wasn't cool already!

 

I don't think you can get the windows to go UP with a normal Cooper key, but I just got mine programmed so if you hold down the unlock button on the key the windows go down. Very cool. Worked from 1/4 mile away... I keep testing it, lol. Only went down like a few centimeters from that far... but still! Oh how I love to brag.

 

Wait, I just tried it, the windows DO go up by turning the key. That was the only thing I missed about my VW, and the MINI does it better! Woo!
