buying a high milage mcsa??
so i have a chance to buy a higher milage mcs a, its a red 06 with over 120000 miles, 1 owner and the place that has it told me its in very good condition, all the maintenance has been done and everything runs smooth and clean, transmission running strong. i have yet to go take a look at it and test drive, they offered for me to take it to a mechanic but they guarantee everything is fine and car runs strong. thanks for any input
i will be going there on sunday, anything i should look into or look at, im not a mechanic, my dad is coming with me. thanks again

It looks very nice but $10,000 for a high mileage coop a bit stiff. Like some of the Japanese cars, they can go as much as 200,000 miles but I'm not too sure if majority of mini's can beat the 200,000 miles. I have a doubt.
So, you have plenty of reason from the dealer why you want this car for $8,000. Start from that offer and meet him in between. Good luck

The '06 is probably the best MINI made out of all years.
Having said that, take it to a MINI dealer for a complete inspection. Transmission fluid, power steering, have the supercharger checked for any water pump noises, get all the control arm bushings inspected for wear, have the thermostat housing checked for leaks and have a thorough inspection for any oil leaks.
I couldn't tell from the photos if it has the sunroof, but if it does have it checked to ensure it's proper operation particularly in the hot sun.
Have the seller provide you with a FREE Carfax report, get any guarantees in writing and start your haggling at around 8k but don't go much higher than that.

Get a inspection done on it. A car with that much mileage, I would look into several things...
-The transmission
-Supercharger
-Window Motors
-Power Steering Pump
-Clutch
These MINIs are honestly fun, but they are maintenance queens. Have a good amount of money in the bank in case anything goes wrong with the MINI. Parts + Labor is expensive for this car.
