Broken E-Brake

I was at the store last night and pulled my ebrake after parking, only to hear a pop and feel the handle lose tension. It still clicks and such, but the brake does not engage. Does anyone know what might have happened, as well as how I can get the console off so I can take a look at it. I've tried a few things but can't seem to get it removed (I know there are clips in the housing that I need to get out but I can't seem to do it).

Probably has nothing to do with that part group. More likely the cable snapped at the rear caliper. You probably need cables (no sense in doing just one.)
