Practically overnight, the windshield in my 2005 MC developed a huge crack from the bottom of the windshield snaking upward. My local body shop did a nice job and replaced the windshield with OEM glass. I did have one question, though: after the repair I couldn't help noticing that the lower chrome molding and rubber gasket have a break in them at about the midpoint of the windshield. I've attached a photo.

Was that always there, or did it crack in half when the windshield cracked? If the former, I guess I just never noticed it before, but it looks odd. If the latter, I assume I should go back to the body shop and get it replaced too?

P.S. A bonus question, totally unrelated: is it possible to get replacements for the metal threshhold covers in the bottom of each doorwell? Mine have gotten pretty banged up, and I'd like to replace them, but I can't find anything on the official minimotoringear.com site.

 

I have an '05 MCS with the original windshield and mine looks exactly like yours.
