R50/53 Aftermarket wheels void warranty?
Since I started viewing this forum in 9/03 and later as a MCO/NAM member, I've copy and pasted valuable information into 61 pages of "MINI Stuff" for future reference. So I went back and pulled the following up for you.

-----------
Warranty on AM Parts
If you are in the USA, legally, a vehicle manufacturer cannot void the warranty on a vehicle due to an aftermarket part unless they can prove that the aftermarket part caused or contributed to the failure in the vehicle (per the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act (15 U.S.C. 2302(C)). A good explanation of your warranty rights in the US can be found at http://www.granatellimotorsports.com/magnusonmoss.htm

If you use wheel spacers and/or change offset/tire width dramatically changing
the suspension geometry resulting in wheelbearing damage, etc. the dealer
is not liable for the damage.
It really depends on how you bring the car to the dealer and bs your
way through...
