R50/53 Bet your MINI doesn't park this high
actually there is a basement under the garage floor. It was built so it could handle 2,000 lbs for the lift and two 5,000lb cars. It is the only one post lift I have ever been able to find. I have gotten used to. My dad is going to be parking his 04 turbo porsche cabriolet under it so that explains how much he trusts the system.
Its solid, the only downside to the lift the metal floor is part of the structure.

I don't remember exactly how much it cost but it was definately almost double the price of a regular lift. If I remember correctly it was somewhere around 3.5 -6grand . I got it from werther international.

>>is it solid underneath?...no access under the car for maint and mods?
yes, that does seem strange... Iwonder why they would build it that way? Although the solid floor would prevent oil-drips on the car below.

complete with a statue/bust with the tilting head which reveals yet another toggle switch opening the access to the fire pole to slide down!
but in Florida, we have this thing called a water table which exists a few feet, sometimes inches, from the surface!

neato! dang, only 3.5k - 6k? i should get one of those.
Did you have to get a village permit (ordinace) for that, or does it not
matter to have a lift inside your garage of that scale?
i got 2 cars in our 2 car garage. my wife's car is on the driveway.
if i get that, i can buy another car to keep in the garage (3) and
wife's car can still stay out on the driveway.

>>The A8L is nice too.
I have the four post lift. I had to have an additional door panel installed. They raised the tracks to a few inches below the ceiling. Side mounted the electric opener.
Many people want to put a lift in their garage - better do the math before you buy. Many garage ceilings are too low for a car to park below.
They are great for working on a car - mine would be better if it picked the car up with the adjustable arms (changing wheels ect.)

Looks like someone is doing quite well for themselves
. That is a very cool setup. A close friend of mine is installing a double upright system in their new house. The brand new SL500 goes under the 911. The S500 and the CL600 have their own bays. I guess their new Escalade will stay outside...

Mine parks just as high. But not on a lift. My garage is 2 floors. Drive around back, and you can go into the lower garage which I have set up as a shop. Lower garage houses the landcruiser project and my pickup truck. Upper garage houses the cooper s and the brother in law's matrix. My woman's 4 runner and brother in law's work van reside outside. I have way too many cars in my yard. And I usually have 2 more here that aren't mine too!

Isn't it annoying to do all the juggling it would require to get the car off the lift and out of the garage? (pull out one car, drop lift, pull out lifted car, pull in other car, drive away).
I've tried parking motorcycles behind cars, and I basicly stopped using them due to the hassle, and ended up moving the car outside.

if that car on the lift falls off onto another car below during an
earthquake, would the top car be covered under the comprehensive
coverage or a collision? (or earthquake home owner's coverage?)
the car on the bottom would be covered under comprehensive...
just wondering....
