Battery Relocation....

In my 2005 S, the battery is in the boot, has anyone moved it to another location? Any problems doing this? Thanks.

Where would you put? Not too many places to put it. Most have just moved it up into the boot area. You do want to get a new battery that doesn't req. a drain or ventilation if you do.

I take it you meant engine compartment when you said "Most have just moved it up into the boot area". Would be nice if I could move the battery upfront! I need the space! My sub box has a false floor, but it's inches above the rear opening of the boot.... I miss my space... I have a 10" 3.5" deep sub right now, I'll probably try the 2.5" JL 13TW5 sub to save some space.... but, having that well the battery sits in would be most helpful!

Ummmm......you say in your OP that the battery is in the boot and I said that most move it up into the boot (trunk) area.

No room for the battery under the bonnet (hood).

Forget the ghetto boom and go with the boot space....!

Problem is they ruined the dash after 05 . Besides, that's allot of money to buy a new Mini when my 05 is in great shape, and I have not had car payments for many years now !

We don't need to locate no steenkin' battery. Although I don't have a spare, I do have the following in my MINI boot:

- Mounted Cobalt rear strut tower bar
- Stock 6-disc MP3 CD changer
- Truck 10" sub box w/single Kicker 300W speaker
- Kicker ZX250.2 250W 2-channel amp (bolted to right rear seat)
- Rockfort Fosgate 1 Farad capacitor (bolted to right rear seat)
- Truck-style scissor jack and crank handle
- Factory MINI jack
- Foldable cross-style lug wrench
- Two foldable triangle reflectors
- Can of Fix-A-Flat
- Armor-All foam tire shine
- Spare quart of oil
- One gallon BMW antifreeze
- Two-three bottles STP fuel treatment
- Can of window cleaner
- Bottle of Eagle One wheel cleaner
- Bag containing metric and standard wrenches
- Small bit kit for torx, small sockets, etc
- Couple of mechanic red cleaning rags, several white cotton rags, four green micro-fiber rags
- Three wheel brushes of various grades/materials
- Small Crown Royal bag containing covers for my KC lights
- Flashlight

In the MINI factory storage case that bolts to the bottom of the boot cover:

- Spare set of H7 bulbs
- Spare set of H11 bulbs
- Spare set of H3 bulbs (for KC lights)
- Spare set of side marker bulbs
- Spare set of 5W bulbs
- Spare set of 21/5W bulbs
- Spare set of 21W bulbs
- Tire repair kit (two punches, black tar punch inserts, valve stems, rubber cement)
- Spare set of spark plugs
