Our car should be ready in about a week, so today I was working with our bank on wrapping up the financing. When we got to the price, it was more than I expected. I double checked the numbers Classic gave me, and sure enough what the bank had was higher than my quoted price... WTF?

So I call up Julie at Classic, and we run through the options I chose. 2 things became clear right away - 1. We added rain sensing wipers _after_ the original quote - no big deal. 2. According to Julie, MINI had tacked on the $450 price increase, even though my car was built in early Dec, and I was told I wouldn't have to pay the price increase - Big Problem

Julie asks to put me on hold, and I wait and try to figure out the most creative way to tell her there is no way I'm paying that $450... she comes back, and right away, with no prompting, tells me that I shouldn't be responsible for that charge, and they won't ask me to pay it  Way to go Classic!

I've worked with more than a few dealers that I know would have made a stink about that charge, and probably ruined my day. Classic fixed the problem without being asked to, and this just reinforces the feeling that I made the right choice buying through them. I highly recommend Julie @ Classic.

Lesson learned: Trust but verfiy.

sounds like they tried to sneak it in and beg forgiveness...remember, they corrected their problem, not yours and in that context they did the respectable, honorable thing.

congrats on your new ride!

I have no way of knowing if they did that or not, but what's important to me is that this purchase had been smooth sailing up to this point, and they fixed the problem with 5 minutes and one phone call.

I doubt that Julie had anthing to do with trying to sneak it in. The purchase agreement was probably faxed from the finance manager and he may not have known about the rebate MINI is offering if you buy a December MINI. MINI is reimbursing the dealerships the $450 price increase for December build cars. I have only heard great things about Classic and Julie and it sounds like the issue was handled quickly and professionally.

I agree, Classic MINI is first-rate to deal with

Be sure to post pics of your new baby when it comes in!
