Ok so I got outa work early, went home and made my interior black.
Its actually drying as I type this, so far it looks beautiful, empty but sexy at the same time. I didn't want any of the spot welds, or imperfections covered up, so no filler was used, just paint and metal.

Oh and since I didnt post pic's of the welded in crotch strap mounts, here they are.

Just tacked the nut on before final weld.

Final weld, almost as good as when I left.

Close up of the fishplate mount welded into floor.

Floor board shot.

And here's the main event, WET PAINT DO NOT TOUCH!!!

Now to get all the stuff back in before the new S/C goes on.
All in a days work.

Lots of work done since the last update. Most of which happened today since I somehow managed to get the day off of the poo sucking job.
The roll bar is back in, the tunnel side harness mounts have been made onto the Brey&Krause brackets, the harness's are installed, and the driver seat is back in the car. Oh and I am still waiting on the damn government to send me the rest of my SPRINTEX money, so it's not running yet, but it's close.

Here's the pic's.

Yep Steve, you can always count on the tax man to cause delays. Good news is that Rick at Boostec has a SPRINTEX kit siting on a shelf at their shop waiting for me to come get it.

Professor, the SPRINTEX is a fairly priced pice of equipment. The $3100.00 price tag might scare a few away but, you need to look at exactly what all you are getting. Yes the GEN5 SPRINTEX twin screw S/C is the main event, you are also paying for an electric water pump conversion, a new hydraulic tensioner assembly, and new castings to replace the factory S/C plumbing (including replacement of that crappy plastic inlet pipe that MINI thinks is good enough.). If you price out a brand new M45, W/P, tensioner, and I/C inlet horn, with a new plastic inlet, and all the hardware, from the factory it's also pretty pricey, and in the end it is still stock with no gain in any kind of power. From Sprinttex's testing they advertise a 40HP gain, and it has been confirmed to be accurate by MYNES, and BoosTec. A few units have already been sold to private parties, and shuld be hitting the streets soon, so we will see how they do if they post up some results.
Oh I forgot to mention that if a smaller pulley is desired for anyone intrested in a Sprintex, they do offer a 64mm, and a 60mm for right around $100.00 each with a new belt. (Again cheaper than the stock/aftermarket replacements! And the 64 and 60mm will give you 16 plus pounds of boost at sea level, but will void the 6 month waranty.) I say SCREW waranty's!!!

MiniProwler, if you havent' check out the entire thread, and there is more to come so stay tuned. Any questions, just ask, I will get an answer back to you in 4 - 6 weeks after processing and the proper paperwork. (NA just kidding with that last parrt.)

Really enjoying reading about your build. To many times I read threads about "builds" and its a cai, pulley and a dash mat. Keep up the good work!

Oh trust me I agree. But its not a lot of money in the long run really. Come tot he dealer and we charge well over 2k for a new charger and install. A few more pones for this setup is a bargain really. Granted you need some other items such as injectors and software.

Keep it up brother, enjoying this thread.

You will see as this pice and its related parts get closer to being completed. I have been working on the idea since last summer, and all of it shuld work and supply enough air, or atleast my intake will be loud as hell. (OOPS! )

hot looking bonnet. Your DFIC will be really happy with that new exit scoop.

A couple of cowl scoops from Voltage would be killer on your car. Especially if you could get them to custom make some carbon ones for you.
