Help! 04 (March) MCS key fob not working after BCM change.

Help! I bought my 04' used about 2 months ago and one of the turn signals wasn't working. I took it back to the dealer (not a mini dealer) and they determined that it was the BCM. After 10 days, I finally got it back but the key fob's won't do anything.

All of the reset/re-initialize procedures I have found pertain to July 04' and later. Any ideas? Thanks!

Call them now, you need to copy the key codes out of the old BC1 and put them in the new BC1 then the keys will work.

That could be a problem... They don't have the old one anymore. Oops...

Anybody have any other suggestions on what to do about reprogramming the keys? I do not have access to the old bc1 and the closest mini dealer is 200 miles from me. Not to mention, I would hate to pay a bunch of money for convenience.

I would check the battery first before making the drive. I believe it was after 04 that the keys had rechargeable batteries that charged in the ignition.

I had to replace my BC1 while back on my 02 and they didn't need my old BC1 to program anything. I would take the drive and ask them to program it since they should have when they replaced the BC1.

The other thing might be that the keyfob is just broken. I have that problem currently so my buttons don't work.

Only benefit is that when I will get a new key, I'll have them program all the convenience functions into the keys.
