R50/53 Feel naked without my Scangauge II
So it seems a lot of us are running about the same water temp. That's good to know. I honestly agree with Thulchatt. Having the real time data just seems right. Now that I know that the idiot OEM temp gauge is unreliable (at 233 degrees, it didn't even move past the middle), I will always have that thing in my MINI.
Really? That's interesting to know. So let me get this. The high speed fan doesn't kick on until 234 degrees.......unless you turn the air-conditioning on, which makes the high speed fan come on automatically. Just trying to figure out how the system works.
My 04 low speed fan is out. My Mini S scangauge shows 198 all the time and in traffic raises to 210 or so. If I run the AC all the time it runs at about 198 because the AC fan comes on around 204. Once calibrated to the right atmospheric pressure my boost reads -8 at idle and tops out at 10 psi WOT. Intake temp runs at about 30 degrees above outside temp.
