For those of you with Dark Silver;

I've noticed a LOT of you chose white for the roof cover color.

Personally, I think that Dark Silver and Black looks much tougher.

Thoughts?

Hey, I have the dark silver MCS with a dark silver roof and sunroof option. The mirrirs are black and it looks great. If I didn't get the sun roof, I would have chosen a white roof and mirrors because I live in FL. The black roof getrs really hot down here.

I've ordered the same color scheme and packages as you. I'm still kind of wrestling with possibly ordering the white roof and mirrors...because of the heat...but, I think the black looks classier. Hummmmmmmmmmm...........

Sorry 'bout that Jayoung...as you can tell from my previous 'sig,' I've changed my mind again. I've pretty much settled on same scheme as you've inquired about.

My MCS is Dark Silver with the white top & sunroof.
While I had it in for service I "got" to drive a MC loaner (for last six days) and it was Pure Silver with a black top and sunroof. I really noticed the heat with the black top.

Jhutton,

May I ask where you live?

I'm up in Wisconsin so maybe it won't be an issue. In fact maybe I SHOULD get the black roof!

Was it REALLY noticeable, I mean unacceptably so?

I live in Jupiter FL. At one time I had a black mercedes 280S and swore I'd never get a black car in Florida again. The heat is definately noticable with a black car. After the Mercedes I bought a white Saab, and it didn't get as hot.

I struggled with the black/white debate with my chili red MINI. I really like the black much better on the silver (and my red) but I drove a black Honda and even though I live in Minnesota, it was like driving a toaster oven on hot summer days. In the end I opted for the cooler white.

P.S. The lighter color made a huge difference in temp when getting in my car at the end of a sunny day!

For me there was no choice......because I HAD no choice! Unless I wanted a solid pure silver Mini, I had to get a black roof. I don't find it gets particularly hot (I mean, in the summer it got a little warmish, but I also don't live in a completely sunny area so during the winter I am sure I won't have to worry about it. It gets plenty cold here...)
It's all a matter of personal preference....although I see you are getting the premium package and I personally am a fan of the sunroof in the black roof because it is more disguised. Some people like the contrast of it though.
To each their own. I am sure whatever you decide will be wonderful!

Cheers!
L.Mini (and her 500th post <------ eek! )

I picked up my DS/B S last thursday night. It looks great! It did get hot today and I am sure a white roof would have been cooler but that is what A/C is for. I almost ordered a different color scheme utill I saw this combo at the dealer. Pictures do not do the dark silver justice!

White roof....black roof.....tough looking.....fun looking. It doesn't matter what
WE think.....only what YOU think and what YOU want! What's most important is how it drives and that's pretty much the same for ALL of us. I have a dark silver S with white roof and white bonnet stripes. I chose what I loved and I love what I chose.
You will too. Happy motoring!

Hi guys,
Well i did the deed on this past Saturday. At the YaleTown dealer ship in beautiful downtown Vancouver i order mine. The first Indi Blue Cooper "S" from that dealership.
She'll have a black top with panoramic sunroof, heated seats, space cloth interior, 17" S-lite wheels.I should be picking it up in January and drving back home to Edmonton.
Oh and BTW the Sales Rep Marcel, acutally gave me a car for the entire day to test drive while i was there.I must say out of all the nasty story;s i have heard out there regarding poor dealerships and price hiking , i have to give mini YALETOWN a five star rating for there professional manner and honest straight forward talk. Not a penny over MSRP did i pay.

Cheers to you all
anxiously waited for my Indi Cooper "S"

Was at my MINI dealer today and they already had an INDI Blue Cooper S there! I love the INDI Blue with a white top but it was not available when I ordered. HOWEVER, IMO, INDY Blue is a color that looks better on a Cooper (and this was confirmed in person today) b/c the INDY BLUE looks great with the CHROME!!! I'm not a big chrome fan but with the INDY Blue, the trunk handle, the grill and the chrome slats look incredible. The Indy Blue 'S', I'm sorry to say, looked nice but nothing special. Again, just my opinion.

I got ds/b and am putting on aftermarket shadow stripes. Many tests here in Florida on temperatures inside different color cars show there is not much difference.
