R50/53 GoMini Mag Quick Review from a Yank
I received one as a Christmas pressie from a UK friend...good quality magazine with a lot of familiar faces, which was very cool, but the overabundance of modded MINIs made the mag look a bit ricey overall...hopefully it will get better in the coming issues...just my opinion.
>>I've been looking, no luck as of yet.
one more trip to Brans & Noble today to go look for it
or then i might order the first issue
i don't want to get a years sub without looking at the first couple of issues

I ordered my subscription 3 weeks ago on-line and still haven't gotten my copy yet. Maybe I should check-up on this and see if there was a problem. I did get confirmation from GoMini that they received my order. Hmmmmmm.
My subscription was held up, too...seems there was a computer glitch of some sort(at carmags), but the order was indeed placed. That confirmation # means you're in!!! I e-mailed carmags and it was sorted out very quickly. I had my first issue in days.
The mag is very good....still haven't seen it on any local B&N shelves, though. Mods were discussed a lot, but is was really fun seeing some mods done on MINI Ones!!! I look forward to seeing more MINIs representing the international scene but, IMO, they covered the spectrum pretty well for the first issue.
Tips on buying MINIs were also presented...it might be real confusing to US buyers as detailed references are made to the Salt, Pepper, Chili option packs and the TLC package. Question...are these UK only packages or does the rest of MINIdom work off of these package names, too? Its not the way things are set up in the States at all and hence the possible confusion.
Great, drool-worthy pics, typically clever Brit writing, a cool layout, and an imaginitive array of features! GoMini is well worth seeking out, IMO. I do still think there's room for a US mag, but given the presence and position of NAM in the marketplace its not an urgent need. Besides, it definitely is a plus to get inspiration and a sense of community from MINI owners abroad!!!
