Well a while back I was seriously considering spending a significant amount of coin on modding the MC, but I took a step back and re-asessed that idea and decided it would be more worthwhile to get an MCS. So I started car shopping, drove a mazdaspeed (awesome car) and an MCS, and I was all excited and everything.

Well it turns out I ran across a great deal for a 2002 WRX....

Long story short the blue/white MC is gone and I have been the very happy and proud owner of a WRX. Have already taken it to the track once, and it is very fast and very capable even in the 'twisties'.

Subaru also has a very awesome community.

Just thought I would share, its sad that I didn't want to spend the coin on a new MCS nor the waiting list, and now I have left the MINI community, but the WRX is an awesome car and I am very happy!

Had a red MCS try and play with me the first weekend I had it fun times!

(hope you guys don't hate me now...hehe)

emobob,

Sorry to see you have moved on. Stop by now and then and check out the upcoming turbo MCS.
Enjoy your Scooby. Why did the seller part with his 2002 WRX? Get an STI or EVO?

Moderators:
This thread might be best for MINITALK not performance mods.

well it IS a performance 'mod'

biggest complaint about the car is definitely the transmission...the MCS tranny is like heaven, wrx's is pretty much like hell...oh well cant have it all!

edit:also performance mods is about the only place I ever posted, so it made sense for me to post this there...oh well.

>>The seller was getting a forrester XT (STI engine, with a smaller turbo and IC...this thing is FAST!). He is a subaru rep, and gets things cheap, so he can move up in the world easier than others.<<

What?! Going from a WRX to a Forester is moving up??? I don't care what engine it has, that is an unforgiveably ugly vehicle! Wow. What else is in his garage, maybe a Brat?

Beauty is definitely a subjective thing, but the forrester XT is just hot:

and before people hate, they are posting handling figures almost the exact same as the wrx, as its barely heavier, and the center of gravity is not that much higher (and when its lowered like that I am sure it handles very well). Its also fast as heck, and imagine all the stuff you could carry!!

It's easy to find flying classic minis-

"You're only supposed to blow the bloody doors off "

The forrester XT? It ain't cute, that's for sure. It looks like a cross between an SUV and a Volvo sports wagon.
I bet it ain't cheap either.

BTW, Volvo sport wagons (XC70) are real nice rides...my wife has one and it may have the most comfortable seats I have ever sat in.

Well here you go, press shot covering the 1st Mini Secret Agent thing they had last year.

I think Paul Mullet over at M2 has a shot of his flying over a back counrty bridge, I'll try and find.
