Sorry if this is a stupid question, (but I'm still askingbut how do I find a list of )

where would I find a list of recalls? I have a 2002 MCS june production date-I'm not the original owner-and every now and then I run across someone talking about a recall...the only thing I've had replaced is my coolant resevoir...so I wonder what else might be recalled?

I don't think I can totally count on my dealer--they seem eager to help, but not as informed as some of the enthusiasts here!

I'm not aware of any recall, only service bulletins like the coolant tank and the rear shock lower bolt. You are correct about not trusting your dealership; they seem to be left in the dark by MINIUSA, and don't have the sense to listen to the masses of the forums. Honestly, you have nothing to worry about; Motor-On!

Cheers,
Ryan

(both of which I have had replaced by the dealership)

My 4/03 built MCS was in to have the rear fog lights programmed, they did some work on the cooling fan circuit. I'd have to check the invoice for the service bulletin number. Not a recall per se.

You can research all recalls and TSB's on the NHTSA site. Look at: NHTSA.GOV

Hope that helps!

Cheers

Correct, these are the only OFFICIAL recalls that the dealership will honor. All the other details (rear hatch latch, coolant tank etc) are just service bulletins that they will replace only if you are having problems with them...either that or Irvine BMW is full of customer service jerks. I tried having them replace those items but they wouldn't even take a look.

Thanks all for the info--it was a recent reference to a "hood insulation" recall that made me wonder...I'll check the NHTSA site...meanwhile Motorin On!
