WELL I WAS LOOKING AT THE MEXICO SITE FOR MINI AND SEEN UNDER THE ACCEORRIES AREA A PIC OF A MIN WITH A SOFT OPENING SUNROOF...PIC IS A MOVING ONE SHOWING IT OPENING AND CLOSING?..HMMMM KINDA NEAT..WONDER IF THIS IS JUST FOR THE MEXICO MARKET?? :smile:

PS. Actually... these pictures surfaced about 4-5 months ago.... funny thing... Not one person noticed the soft roof. Everyone was discussing the car and not the roof.

well i guess you could kinda call it the "Herbie the Love Bug" roof...cause it seems to look just like that one..do we all remember that one as a kid..or am i just making it know how old i am , which is 35 BTW

You can probably still get a Webasto sunroof on a new MINI, aftermarket. They made the best folding cloth ones in the old days, and still do, I believe. They are REALLY big when opened.

I saw a "soft top" when I was looking at access in the AC Scnitzer web site.(german) It looks like they can install.

I kinda like it....reminds me of the old beetle rag-tops (vans too if memory serves correctly)...I am also wondering about durabilty and a possible shade like what comes with the sunroof now. Oh yea, and the most important part, how much $$?

The rag top looks ok.....but I will stick with my current sunroof....just my pref.

I previously owned 2 Le Car's very similar roofs. I prefer the glass sunroofs in my MINI. Cooper S is ordered without a sunroof on purpose. Air brushing that White roof should be a lot of fun.
