Have any of you with the door locks programmed for "autolock" had any occassions where the doors do not lock. It seems approx 1 out of 5 times my doors do not lock. Are there any circumstances where they would not self lock? It is no big deal, just wondered.

Only had our MCS for about a month, but the autolock has worked every time. However, if you unlock a door without shutting down, it won't autolock again. You need to shut the car down then restart it and autolock will do its job.

 

My dealer was supposed to program this feature but missed it...they said it was because they need the remote key to do it. Somehow it's "key-dependent" and since they lost that key before I accepted delivery...well, you get it. But somehow they were able to program the central locking using the toggle switch and the daytime running lights. Those must not depend on the key...because they don't involve the key...oh wait...

 

Well have had our Cooper for about 17 days and the Autolocks have worked flawlessly so far. I wish I had instructed our dealer to have the Daytime Running lights programmed prior to delivery, but I forgot all about it at the last minute. The dealer now charges me $40 dollars (1 hour labor) to program the DRL's. I respectfully declined at this time, but if anything I'll get it done should we decide to take a long road trip in the MINI sometime next year.

The dealer also programmed the infamous "5 second boot release" from the remote Keyfob, but I am also thinking of having this feature reprogrammed to lower the windows instead.

BTW, the autolocks activate when the car is moving at or above 9MPH.
