Deciding between two 04 MCS

I have my eye on two local cars, same year (04), one with 70k, the other with 29k miles. I like both cars for different reasons. I'm leaning toward the high mileage car since it is about 5k cheaper. But am concerned with the miles.?!?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Tough call:
Low mileage is awesome but 5K savings also very nice.

Only you can determine which way to go. If you go with 70K miles, spend a few dough to bring it to reputable mechanic. Ask the owner if he is willing.
You never know, the $5,000 savings could be some ill winds hiding in mechanicals, suspension and other expensive parts.

Hey could be true in low mileage car too -- but less likely vs to high mileage.

If the work that most MINI's need before 70K to 100K is not already done the $5K you save now will be gone in short order.

High mileage 04 = money pit

D.A. here, but Id avoid both and look for a low mileage 06 instead. better build quality all around, and if its a low-car, there may be some oem warranty left. but then it's yer bank....

I love finding low mile cars but $5,000 can pay for a lot of issues. Almost every known issues with 04's could be taken care of with $5,000 (except for a CVT and MCS's don't have CVT).
If you have the money in hand for either car, and can hold the $5,000 in case something comes up go with the high mile car. 70k is not the much.

That is a tough one - would really depend on the price. 5,000 is a big savings, but so is 40,000 miles.

how do they compare - options wise. You looking at any others in the area. I just went through the same thing (looking part) and there were many options available to me - keep looking and you might find something even better

I would opt for the lower miles - all things considered.

good luck

Thanks for all the advice... I'm going to take a closer look at the high mileage car, going to take a MINI guy to check it out. Still a toss up for me. I plan on doing some upgrades anyway, 5K would help.
