Electrical issues

This time last year I parked my 2002 Mini Cooper S in my driveway during a rain storm.
It was parked on an angle facing nose down and had a leak in the drivers door. I ended up having to vacuum 4 inches of water from the floor. I parked it in my garage and the next day noticed that my running lights were on. They would not turn off. The car was to be stored for the summer anyway, so I disconnected the battery and kept it charged. I now want to put it back on the road.

The issues that I am having now are:
-Tach and Tach illumination do not work
-Spedo illumination not working (spedo and warning lights work)
-Keyfob unlocks but doesn't lock
-everything else is good

After a bit of online research, I'm guessing it's the General Control Module in the drivers side by the fuse panel.
Others have had similar but not exact issues, so I just wanted to make sure before I replace the part.

any help would be appreciated!

While I was at the dealership for repairs, the mechanic working on someone else's MINI walked in with a fried GC module from behind the dash. The owner had left the sunroof open and it got rain inside. Water had bridged the electrodes at one of the microchips on the printed circuit board and that was all she wrote.
