Since we've got a rousing discussion of cupholders going on, I thought I would ask about this... Shouldn't the aftermarket suppliers offer a drop-in storage bin to fit in the empty space below the toggle switches and between the 2 supports? Many cars have a bin in that general location; it would seem to be a good utilization of a few more cubic inches of otherwise wasted space.

Or how about a storage box/arm rest between the seats?

Our dealers said that it would likely be an aftermarket item. Hope so!

Your wish was someone's command. Check this link for just what you described. Be sure to look at the latest messages as the earlier ones say that there is no storage, while the latest say that some storage will be available.

When I finally get a few minutes of free time, i'm going to velcro some black jersey type material on either side... the empty slot fits bottles great, it just need something to keep them from falling out the sides...

I have put in the empty space below the toggle switches and behind the 2 supports a box of travelling kleenex. It fits perfectly with a little pushing and it stays put. I just pull a kleenex out between the 2 supports.
