I did a quick search and came across things about buying a disabling kit or going to the dealer - that isn't what I want. I want to know if this 'airbag off' feature is built into my 2006 MC convertible.

My 5 month old puppy has become afraid of riding in the backseat of my cabrio (top up) all of a sudden. I don't blame him - it is a little dark back there with the top up (too cold for top down today). He's OK in the back of our Mazda, but it is lighter back there.

Is it safe for him to ride in front? Or, really what I'm asking is the airbag really off in my car when the light is on? He weighs about 22 lbs right now, and I use a restraint.
