OT: How do you remove a sticker that is placed...

How do you remove a sticker that is placed over a rear defrost. I just got a car from mom and she had put a sticker on the inside of the window over the rear defrost. I want to remove it before I tint. Is there any safe way without breaking the rear defrost?

peel off as much as you can then use zippo or ronsonol lighter fluid soaked on a rag hold over on top of adhesive from sticker for about 2-5 min depending on amount of left over sticky bits, rub for a sec and should be gone. Dont use Goo off its crap, and lighter fluid is cheap and it evaporates quick. I used to wrap vinyl on autos and it works wonders on getting sticky messes off of the paint also .Just be sure to wax car after treatment if you use on painted surface because IT WILL REMOVE ANY WAX on the finish . Also It will not mess up any Clearcoat or metallic finish . Just dont use it on fresh painted
cars

But I am assuming that it will remove the rear defroster element too.

My suggestion would be to heat up the sticker with either a heat gun or a hair dryer. Get the glue all tacky & slowly peel. This will leave most of the gunk on your window. Then use the lighterfluid (I prefer Expo White Board cleaner for sticky stuff) It should keep the element unharmed.

As posted above, douce a rag & hold over the sticky & let it soak. The longer the better. Keep extra rags on hand to clean up the extra fluid & sticky gunk that will drip down your window & probably your arm.

3M Adheasive Remover, and Goo Gone works well for removing anything sticky. Available at most automotive or hardware stores.

there is a decal remover from any local sign supply, or maybe you can get a bit for free from your local sign shop. That softens up the decal and the glue. it lets you roll it right off and will not harm painted surfaces, nor will it harm your defroster

wont even budge it ...the elements are bonded with a UV sensitive epoxy at the factory you would have a hard time trying to damage that with any kind of fluid to remove sticky stuff . ( read the label on Ronsonol lighter fluid ) by the way its about a 3rd of the price of anything else that does the same thing..
