R50/53 Need help locating missing screw replacements
Need help locating missing screw replacements
I noticed that the lower part of the bumper, the part that is anchored to the skidplate, is actually NOT anchored at all
Somehow ALL 5 screws that bolt the bumper part to the undercarriage are missing. Probably at oil change the mechanic forgot to put them back in. The closest dealer is 45 minutes away and he told me he doesn't stock them, but they look like regular Philips flat-head screws. Can anyone here give me any specifics what I need to look for at a hardware store?

Having removed a few sets of those for folks during mod installs I agree ... nothing special
If I had a GEN1 here I'd measure but I don't
You'd simply need sumtin close 2 - 1/2 inch long sheet metal or self tap with a wide head.
I'd go to an ACE hardware, where they have: open "screw bins" and dig around.
Buy a few possibles ..... 5 cents each ... and after you verify what's right THRILL THEM by buying almost $2 of the right stuff

Go to Lowes. In the hardware section they have some drawers just for automotive fasteners. They have all kinds of screws which are automotive specific. Just ask for the "fasteners" drawer and they should point you in the right direction.
