Steering Wheel Off Center?

So I got a problem. Its not huge, but its buggin' me!

Ever since I lowered my Mini, I noticed that my steering wheel center is off a bit. I have to hold the wheel about a 1/4 - 1/2 to the right if I want to got straight.
I know the rear wheels are not quite aligned properly, as I will be getting an alignment as soon as I can, but would that really effect it that much?

Help!

Thats what I am hoping. I just though it could be something different because of some circumstances that are too detailed to explain.

Thanks though.
