Is it possible to haul 4 tires/rims in my mini? What about with a passenger and two pieces of luggage?

The tires on rims (all 4) will fit in the back with the rear seat backs down. The passenger seat is clear for use. Adding luggage might be pushing it.

Depends what size. I could see up to 16"s with luggage and 17"s and a duffel bag. I normally put in 225/45/15 track tires mounted on 15x7 wheels in the hatch with the seats obviously folded down.

Hmm. That sounds promising... I'm picking up 4 205/40/17's and was wondering if I'd have to take my friends car or if mine would be able to do it.

Thanks for the fast responses!

Plenty of room for that. You have the front seat for 1 wheel too.

Have hauled two Ford F150 mounted tires with no problem. It was a tad close though. It truly surprised us.

I haven't tried with all four, but it looks like I could fit the four wheels on the back seat, with the seats in the regular sittable position. Then you have the front seat for the passenger and the hatch for the luggage.

I had five tires (four without rims, one on the rim) in the back of my '06 once. Both front seats were free.

If they don't fit???
If they do not quite fit fully inflated you can try letting the air out to make them smaller!!!

It will work, but bring a sheet(s) to protect your interior.

No problem, my MINI was delivered to me with 4 winter tires inside.

Oh yeah! Plenty of room! Here are four wheels & tires (wheels for sale in the marketplace!) with a full size jack, my little tool kit, my air tank, sprayer, and I had a huge tub in the front seat as well. As long as the "luggage" constitutes two smallish duffel bags, it can certainly be done!

P.S. There is a little tire rack that my Dad made for me out of PVC pipe! Then the tires are totally strapped in using the anchor & tether points.

Nice WannaMini. That's an important thing - having everything strapped down. Last thing you want flying around inside your car in an accident is a freaking wheel. Or four.

Bring a sheet of plastic for cleanliness if the tires aren't new.

....Or get a set of TireTotes. They're about $40/set of four. Really nice to transport any size tires, mounted on wheels or not.

I traveled with 4 wheels in my MINI for 3 hours...just be aware that your rear view mirror will be quite useless, depending on how you stack them.

I'm about to drive from Central/North Jersey to pick up rims/tires in MD, and then down to VA. I'll be headed back up some time Sunday. I'll probably take some photos for reference. Thanks for all the input and help.

I could not fit 4 rims and tires in my car (unmounted tires) I have 3 17" rims in their boxes and 3 215/45-17 tires in there - it will take me 2 trips to get them there and I'm hoping 1 trip to get all 4 home after having them mounted.

Yup it fit. I put down sheets/tablecloths to cover the rear seats, and just put 2 behind each seat. They were upright with the outside of the rims all facing the same direction to not damage them. I then put the seat belts through the spokes to secure them down.

That left the entire trunk/boot available for luggage and stuff.

Being 6'2" there was barely enough for me to sit comfortably from VA to NJ, but it wasn't bad.

I think I traveled with 4 new 205/50/16 tires and two other wheels with tires in at one point. That's total of 6 wheels in the MINI

4 wheels and tire HA

Got that beat. My record in the race car is 13, yes wheels with tires, and all the weekend track junk and tools

For the street car with full interior my record is 10, and the weekend track junk.
I'll have to see if I can find some pics.

when i first saw this thread i thought "no way" initially. i've been lugging around 1 wheel and tire for a while now as a spare. after thinking it through i thought "maybe"... and after i saw the pic wannamini posted, i was surprised! you could actually fit other stuff even with 4 wheels and tires! another thing to add to the "why the mini is awesome" list!
