R50/53 gauges on top of steering wheel
gauges on top of steering wheel
hello all, i'm new to the forums.
Looking to get an 2005 MCS Chili Red and join the cooper community :D
I noticed one thing about this mini that i checked out.
I'm used to seeing the speedo in the center of the dashboard, but this particular one I looked at, has the speedo and tach on top of the steering wheel, but without navigation.
I searched for a pic on google, and this is how it looks like.
Can someone tell me why this cooper is like this, is it a special edition?
Thanks in advance guys, and I hope to be a "true" MCS owner soon.

Its called the Chrono Pack gauge cluster. It was an option from about 2005 to 2007 on the R50/52/53 bodied cars.
It has oil pressure and temperature and water temperature gauges, not just dummy lights found on the standard cars with regular gauges or navi.

"Our non-S tester had the newly optional Cockpit Chrono Pack that puts the speedo in front of the steering wheel (next to the tach) and fills the big circular void left in the dash's center with four gauges, including a pair for oil pressure and oil temperature."
