R50/53 Cooler engine
Did you run your Mini after the coolant flush/fill without the water wetter? Not doubting your results, just wondering if the drop in temp was caused by the coolant change, the water wetter or a combination of both.

Yes. The coolant flush alone wasn't enough, so the mechanic recommended water wetter for our driving conditions. It's very common to see cars scattered every 2-5 miles along the highway with steam over flowing their hood scoops. I've even seen a couple cars on fire. Now, there are other things involved here but you get my point about the heat. I also had the same result in my Land Rover.
I can say using the "water wetter" product found at most autopart stores works extremely well. I live in Tucson Az and the summer temps get up to 120F and being stuck in traffic going 30mph max really works the cooling system if your one who also likes to put work the A/C unit hard. So, needless to say my fan would kick on everyday and stay on for 10-15 min after I turned the car off. After I flushed the fluid and put 50/50 then added a bottle of "water wetter" my fan never comes on after I park her. Great product in my opinion.
+1
I did the same couple of weeks ago, just barley did the 50/50 with distilled water and MINI Coolant also a bottle of Red Line's Wetter Water.
