Over the course of 3 years with my 2006 R53 and it's universal remote mirror, I've been able to program my mom's garage door, my mom's neighborhood gate, and the gates to two apartment complexes I've lived in. All with zero issues.

Flash forward to today when I tried to program in the gate remote for my girlfriend's apartment complex. I wiped my mirror's memory to start from scratch. No matter what I try (or how many times I try it) I can't get it to recognize this remote!

It's a "Linear" corp. 318mhz transmitter, looks exactly like this one. I seriously doubt it can be a rotating code as the apartment complex in question has about 500 units in it. Also my understanding from the manual is that the light would flash in a certain way to tell me that it detected a rotating code remote, but the light simply isn't reacting to this remote at all.

Has anyone run into any remotes that the Mini's universal remote wouldn't learn? Is there a list of unsupported configurations for my own personal sanity check?

And most importantly for me, is there a workaround?
