MINI Cooper engine swap

Hello all,
I ran into a little snag with my Mini. I had an issue with the o-ring on the oil filter housing breaking and I lost the oil which needles to say it damaged the motor. At this point I dont know how bad it is but it doesnt sound good. I was thinking that if I found a good deal on a S motor, that I should just get one and drop one in place of the old one. Does anyone know if that is a simple thing to do or is there something I'm missing?????

If you can get the full motor you may be all right, but you still have a bunch of things to do. Off the top of my head:
-Relocate battery
-new hood
-new shift linkages
-new motor mounts (assuming the locations even match up, which is the biggest if in my head)
-new drive shafts
-coolant system tweaks (cooper S has a different water pump location)

So it wont exactly drop in like you were hoping. I would probably sell it to somebody who doesnt mind doing the work and get an S. That said I bet the swap doable, just not that easy.
