Every once in a while the power steering goes out for a minute or two then comes back on. Any ideas?

 

I'd say your PS pump is failing. I hope the car is still under warranty. If not look for a reliable repair shop in your area, as nearly all of them use the same repair manual to base their charges on.

When mine failed I discovered it when I tried to make a right turn. Good thing nobody was on the other side of the street, or I probably would have crashed into them.

 

Firstly your PS fan could be the prob(start car turn on A/C PS fan should kick in with radiator fan) ,if the pump is dead BBA-reman.com is a source much cheaper than dealer replacement but you have to remove it and send it in for repair.

 

Do a search, there are many threads about PS system and failure.

 

How's the fluid level?

 

Good call,if adding fluid make shure it's Pentoshin CH11S mormal PS fluid is not recomended
