R50/53 What if you could... with your MCS...
I'm pretty happy with the MINI stock. I'd do more or less like I have, I've got tires wheels for the track (no compromise performance) and regular street tires for a little comfort. Then I'd spend the extra odd $13k on track days, that should last a few years.
I'd go to Dr. Fuh & co. route. Turbo for insane power, we know that this iron block Tritec can take the beating and let's face it, a turbo will smoke a supercharged car on the track. Why do all serious racers and enthusiasts & even OEM like Porche, BMW, Audi, Nissan, Mitsu, Subie, etc. are using Turbo? The computer technology & engineering we have today have made them more reliable and long lasting. This is just my opinion and no offense.
Of course all black
Go to Mini-Madness site and if you can find Randy Webb winning races on their Twin-charged R53. Yes it is a combination of S/C and Turbo but the Turbo is there to make big HP numbers.
a couple of post have mentioned clutch upgrades (fx200). probably a definite if hp/torque are really gonna be increased, eh?
for those with upgraded clutches (with or without incr hp/torque) - what's your opinion on driveability and/or delivery/smoothness of power?
