Please let's not get this thread shutdown over political comments. Middle Eastern politics and US policy is not part of the discussion here

I may not agree with the what's been going on over there, but I do not disregard those nations because of some loons in power want to get their way

1: I completely disagree with that statement. If you were living over here you would see both sides and not state such a one-sided opinion.

2: Can this thread stay on topic as to places around the world with an abundance of MINIs and not turn into a political debate?

Not the world, but the Mini capital of the US has GOT to be San Francisco. You can't go a block without seeing a Mini.

When I moved to the little town in Georgia in 2005 my than 2004 MC was the only MINI in probably a 35 mile radius. Now we have 6 or 8 in town, including a silk green MC. I still have people ask me what kind of car is that? I like it better when there's just a few and not all over the place.

I was in San Francisco in early '06 I did see my share of MINIs but I still think Miami has lots more of them in the streets.

Another city where I have seen quite a few MINIs and lotsa classics is Vancouver, BC. I am going back there in May, so we'll see how the MINI demographic has changed since my last visit there 4 years ago.

I wish Miami didn't have so many MINIs at times. It is cool to see them everywhere but the car stopped being the "latest and greatest" circa 2003-2004. No one waves down here at all

Now, when we travel to Central Florida (Orlando) or hop up to North Florida MINIs in general are very rare animals. Even in cities like Orlando and Jacksonville that have single MINI stores, the cars are not a common sight. You can spend days upthere without seeing a single MINI.

But South Florida? Wayy too many

As I just posted here, I saw 104 Mini's on a trip through LA this weekend (64 on I-405 alone). I didn't count the ones I saw after I exited the freeway.

Again, in Miami you'll see more than that on a 5 mile stretch of road. I'' count them, I promise.

Bahrain has ridiculous roads! due to the revamping of most of the streets you can't drive 5 meters without falling into a pothole

Is the number of dealers in a state is any indication, looks like California is king, last time I checked (which was back when I purchased my 05 Mini in, well, 05), there where *14* dealers here, several states had 0 ... most had no more than 2......

In the US, I'd say Spartanburg, SC, but we cheat.

(Employees have the option to get a free lease of a MINI, a lot take it)

That said, I wonder what area has the highest concentration per capita... When you consider cities with millions of people, yeah, you're bound to see more MINIs. But level the playing field and take another look (good luck getting those numbers from MINI though )

Globally, I'd have to say that Oxford is the MINI Capital. After all, that's where they're made

Does three in a town with a population of less than 4000 work for per-capita?
Also, I think some Universities and college towns might have good ratios since, (Southern Illinois University Carbondale for example) they'll have smaller populations, no local dealerships, but a lot of people from areas of higher MINI concentrations bring them down, I think there's about 15 of them in Carbondale I've seen.
